Wonderground Field Blend Grenache Cinsault Mataro

Grenache, Cinsault and Mataro grapes from our Mirus Vineyard and two neighbours, were hand picked., destemmed and fermented together in a small open topped tank with indigenous yeast. After pressing, maturation took place in two seasoned French oak puncheons for 8 months before bottling. Complex, bright and juicy, this wine wears it's heart on its sleeve.

Winemaker’s Notes
Grenache, cinsault and mataro were harvested together as a field blend, with fruit destemmed and 40% retained as whole bunches, then co-fermented in a small open-top fermenter. Following pressing, the wine matured for 10 months in two seasoned French oak puncheons prior to bottling.
Bright crimson–magenta in colour, showing aromas of macerated plum, and darker berry fruits, layered with exotic spice and citrus blossom. The palate is blue-fruited, with lifted spice, bright acidity and excellent vibrant flavour through the finish.
