When 8 is enough.

May saw the launch of Eight, the lunchtime private wine and dining experience held in the 100 year old Mirus Room at Wonderground Gallery and Mirus Vineyards, in the beautiful Barossa Valley.

This monthly experience is the culmination of a long friendship between Mirus owners, Kirsty and Nick with chef Sandor Palmai.

On the eve of the inaugural Eight, Sandor was excited, commenting

‘It's happening. 🙌 After a long time away from my own stove, I'm cooking again — and I couldn't be more ready.

On Friday 22nd May, I'll be serving my first lunch as part of my ongoing collaboration on 8 at Wonderground and Mirus — joining them twice a month from here. This one means a lot. Getting back behind my own stove, cooking food that's genuinely mine — rooted in the Barossa, shaped by the season, and grown as close to the plate as possible.

The region's produce is extraordinary right now, and what isn't coming from local growers is coming straight out of my own garden. That connection to the soil, in step with what's ready and what's right — all of it will be on the plate. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards of the western ridge that produce wines that truly speak of place and the bonus of working with some genuinely brilliant people — I can't wait.

Come and eat with us. 🌿’

We see ‘Eight’ as more a journey to be immersed in with your favourite 8 people - from the art, to the food, to the wine pairing - you meet the owners, the artists, the winemakers and the chef.

We look forward to our next 8 on the 26th June.
